Donna M. Griffin, Esq.
Ms. Griffin has advised and represented
clients in the labor and employment field since 1991. She has developed
substantial experience defending employers ranging from “Fortune 100”
to “mom and pop” organizations. Her areas of expertise involve
defending employers in wage and hour, discrimination and harassment
claims in agency, and state and federal court proceedings.
In addition to handling all phases of litigation, Ms. Griffin has
concentrated her practice in the following areas:
- training all levels of management regarding
employment law compliance
- preparing employment-related contracts, including
noncompete and severance agreements
- conducting employment-related audits and
investigations
- providing strategies and consultation to employers
toward litigation avoidance
- developing human resource policies and procedures
Ms. Griffin’s experience in the administration,
management and ownership of small and large businesses has helped her
appreciate the challenges of operating a profitable company. This
non-legal experience has provided her with a unique perspective to
successfully assist a wide range of companies and has afforded her the
ability to provide sound legal, yet workable and practical advice and
counsel.
In addition to her legal and business work experience, Ms. Griffin has
devoted a significant amount of time to volunteering for not-for-profit
organizations. Specifically, Ms. Griffin has enjoyed her work with the
Catholic Dioceses of St. Petersburg, serving in such roles as the
President of the Parent and Faculty Association; Student Advisory
Council Member; Safe Environment Trainer; Outreach Chairperson;
Chairperson and Secretary of the Parish Council for St. Michaels
Catholic Church; Softball Coach; Eucharistic Minister; Religious
Education Instructor; and, Pinellas Hope volunteer and contributor. Ms.
Griffin feels fortunate to have had these volunteering experiences,
which when coupled with her legal and non-legal work experiences, has
enhanced her ability to relate to, communicate with and develop
long-lasting relationships with clients and associates.
